GreenLift: Empowering TCLF sectors through green and digital skills

GreenLift is an Erasmus+ project that supports the green and digital transition of the Textile, Clothing, Leather, and Footwear (TCLF) sectors through inclusive adult learning. It offers upskilling and reskilling opportunities for women, NEETs, and workers in transition, combining technical training with mentoring and hands-on labs. The project aims to promote sustainable industry practices, social inclusion, and regional resilience across Europe.

Upskill with GreenLift

The project responds to urgent needs in the TCLF sectors, which face significant challenges due to automation, environmental regulations, and shifting labour demands. Many workers lack the green and digital skills needed to adapt, while vulnerable groups remain underrepresented in training and employment. GreenLift addresses these gaps by developing flexible learning pathways, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and aligning with key EU strategies such as the Green Deal and the European Skills Agenda.

Project goals

  • Help TCLF sectors go green and digital.
  • Train women, NEETs, and at-risk workers.
  • Offer flexible courses and hands-on labs.
  • Connect schools, businesses, and public bodies.
  • Test new ways to support adult learning in Europe.

Key actions

  • Develop tailored upskilling and reskilling programmes.

  • Set up hands-on learning labs for green and digital skills.

  • Provide mentoring, counselling, and career guidance.

  • Run awareness campaigns to engage target groups.

  • Pilot and evaluate training in real-world settings.

  • Build partnerships between education, industry, and policy.

  • Share results to influence EU-wide adult learning strategies.

Lasting Impact

The lasting impact of GreenLift lies in strengthening green and digital skills within the TCLF workforce while improving access to quality jobs for vulnerable and underrepresented groups. By developing scalable, inclusive training models, the project offers a blueprint for future adult learning initiatives across Europe. It also fosters long-term cooperation between education providers, industry actors, and policymakers, helping embed sustainability and social inclusion into regional development strategies.
